With summer in Michigan hitting full swing over the July 4 weekend, the two latest television ads highlighting Pure Michigan are reaching audiences across the state and nationwide.
“These latest ads prove once again what we already know – Pure Michigan offers America’s perfect summer,” said George Zimmermann, vice president for Travel Michigan, part of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
The ads can be seen on cable television networks nationwide as well as on network stations in regional markets including Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin.
Another recent ad in the national cable television rotation, a spot featuring Traverse City titled
True North, has received more than 10,500 views on YouTube in just two weeks, in addition to its television airings.
The travel and tourism industry generated $17.2 billion in Michigan last year and helped create an estimated 152,600 jobs statewide. 2011 also saw spending by out-of-state visitors soar 21 percent, surpassing spending by Michigan travelers for the first time.
