Lake Orion Coach Bell Honored

The Lake Orion Dragons Varsity Football team went to the Michigan Division 1 State Football Championships for the second time in three years back in the November 2010.  After losing a tough game back in 2008 they were victorious this year defeating Plymouth by a score of 21 – 13.  The championship was a first in Lake Orion High School history.

If that wasn’t enough, the Detroit Lions named head coach Chris Bell the 2010 High School Coach of the Year.  Coach Bell is in his 13th year as head coach has an impressive record of 112 wins and only 35 losses, including all 13 seasons with winning records.  He has truly come full circle as he is also a graduate of Lake Orion High School.

As part of winning The Detroit Lions 2010 High School Coach of the year, two bill boards have been put up in his honor- one near Ford Field and one in Lake Orion.
